Stout’s Island Lodge is a resort located in Birchwood, WI on an island in the middle of Red Cedar Lake. Our restaurant has long been considered one of the finest places to eat in the area. We wish to continue that tradition with a talented culinary staff.

Stout’s restaurant is a unique opportunity for gifted culinary artisans looking to make a name for themselves. Our audience is primarily guests from the Twin Cities, Milwaukee, Madison, and Chicago area looking to experience the flavors of the north woods of Wisconsin with the same quality experience in service, quality, and taste that you can find in a metro area.

Our line cooks must be able to prepare the cuisine as well as the chef himself. Menu planning and preparation notes will be provided by the chef, but a line cook must be able to replicate the finished product. Line cooks will fill in for the chef on his days off, assist with inventory and ordering, and prep for meals.

The restaurant has seating for 40 people with a max table size of eight guests. Larger groups must rent one of our two events space, Mrs. Stout’s Room (max 24) or the Ice House (max 60). Even larger groups rent the entire island and erect a tent on our lawn for dinner service. The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Line cooks can expect to earn between $9-$15 per hour based on experience.

Our line cooks have the following primary responsibilities:

Ensure each dish is prepared to chef’s expectations.Maintaining a pristine kitchen through implemented cleaning regimen Care and maintenance of all kitchen equipmentReports directly to the Executive ChefResponsible for food safety, handling procedures and cleanliness.Assist in successful execution of all catering events, from 15 to 175 people

Qualifications: Minimum 1 year cooking experienceAbility to drive a boat a plusExperience working on small, versatile teamsExperience implementing new menus and specialsExperience in large and small catering events
